Mormon imagery in pop culture, with a special nod to the Twilight series, as well as “Battlestar Galactica.”  Neither of us have read Twilight or any of its sequels, but they are loaded with glaringly obvious allusions to LDS culture and doctrine. Update on the Gilbert Arizona Temple.  According to Church attorney Paul Gilbert (no, the temple is not named after him), the temple is “designed specifically for the setting it’s in, … the town of Gilbert.” Though, Brother Gilbert is also quick to point out that, “When I say Gilbert, I mean the general area.  The temple serves more than just Gilbert.”  Basically, the Gilbert Temple follows the same architectural motif of most other recent temples.  Woo hoo! Parents that want to be buddy-buddy with their kids cause binge drinking and other naughty activities.  Again, Obviousonomics… And last but certainly not least, make your Mormon name!  Mormons, but especially Utah Mormons, have a tendency to eschew the idea of important family names for their children and instead opt for either random...

Does Southern Utah University unfairly – and perhaps unethically – skew its recruitment and advertising toward the LDS faithful? Gary Coleman – RIP.  Now your ex-wife insists that you would have wanted her to have your “Church Ball” money. A woman is denied wedding services because of the Church’s stance on Prop 8 – and it wasn’t even for an LDS wedding.  The denier of services merely assumed she was LDS because she lived in Utah.  It’s high time this sort of discrimination stopped.  You wouldn’t do that to any other group – gay, Jew, black – yet it’s somehow OK to do it to the Mormons? Our favorite person ever – A Scottish man makes his tenants sign an affidavit requiring them to pretend to be LDS so that he can get some sort of tax break.  AWESOME. The Music of TWiM

Hey folks.  Geoff here.  I am often asked what the various songs or artists are that are featured on the intro and outro music of each episode of TWiM.  As our episode count grew, I also grew – only more reluctant than before to actually itemize every artist and song and make them available to you. However, I have been a good little boy, and now you may see at the top of the main page a link for “TWiM Music.”  Go there and see a list of all music featured on the seventeen episodes of TWiM recorded so far.  I will also update it every week from now on.  I’ve included hyperlinks to purchase any of the music you see or hear.  I am hugely into music, so I hope that making this list available to you will be appreciated and useful. Support good music and support the...
