The Elaine S. Dalton drama is stupid. She was simply saying that if these groups understood LDS Doctrine (not the culture) they would realize they already have all the rights they're demanding from church leadership.
So if women already have the doctrinal right to pray in conference, why is it wrong for them to push back at a culture that has yet to have a women pray in conference?
One person's molehill is another person's further evidence of deeply ingrained institutional inequality. While it may be a molehill to you, some people find it rather unsettling that this molehill is one of many non doctrinal molehills that suggest that men have a stronger connection to the divine (even in non priesthood duties). And so what if it is a molehill. We are not yet Zion. We are still in the process of perfecting the Saints and still will be until all of the molehills have been smoothed out.

Cause it really doesn't matter. Mountain out of a molehill.
