First Mormon Stake Created in Mozambique

Like much of Africa, Mozambique (Moçambique in its official Portuguese) has seen its growth in Latter-day Saint membership increase substantially in recent years after plateauing in the early 2000s, rising to 6,900 members across two districts as of the end of 2013. Now, the Maputo Mozambique Stake, the first in the southern African nation, was organized on February 15 out of the Maputo Mozambique District.
